Within
a Wall
Within a wall, all colors are imprisonedAn artists’ imagination, seeking a freer abode than his mind
Finds refuge in the painting, but is trapped away within a wall.
A riot of colors dear to the heavens,
The worldly observers of paintings can only watch
Through a closed space within a wall,
While wondering from what world these colors came
The trees’ soft shadows melt away
into the river and flow out of the frame
An artists’ imagination finally set free
As heaven finds refuge at last within a wall
The dancing colors, both imprisoned and liberated,
Regard with wonder the azure depths of the artist’s impassioned eye
As he finds solace in the hues
Within a wall.
